CENTENNIAL SCHOOL OFFERS BREAKFAST
|
After the summer, it’s back to school routines for parents and children alike. An important part of that daily routine is making sure children eat healthy meals. State educators believe the challenge of feeding kids can be made easier by having them eat breakfast at school. “Research has shown that breakfast is the most important meal of the day for all of us,” says School Superintendent Laurie Walker. “There is clearly a link between eating breakfast and being ready to learn.

One of the school’s primary objectives is to provide a healthy learning environment, and I believe it is very important to have school breakfast available to as many students as possible.”
Like school lunch, school breakfast is available to all students who want it. School breakfast operates in the same manner as the lunch program. Students will be able to purchase breakfast and charge it to their food service account. Also, students who are eligible for free or reduced meals, will be eligible for breakfast at the same level.
The morning routine for many families can be so hectic and some children just aren’t hungry before they leave for school. Knowing that your student can eat a healthy breakfast once they get to school can be a huge relief for parents and guardians.
Breakfast and lunch menus are posted on the school web page--check them out! For information about the Plano School Breakfast Program, please contact Centennial School at 630/552-3234.
