HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM CENTENNIAL SCHOOL!

FAMILY READING NIGHT A SUCCESS!

Thank you to all of the students and parents who recently participated in the Centennial School Family Reading Night!  Families were encouraged to turn off the TV and spend at least 30 minutes reading together and everyone did just that.  We are very proud to share that over 200 of our families participated and Mrs. Hill-Emery has hung a popcorn kernel in the main hallway with each participant’s name.

Mrs. Schiltz’s 2nd grade class and Ms. Schmitz’s 3rd class were the two classrooms with the highest number of participants. Both classrooms received a reward for their hard work.

Please continue to help us celebrate the importance of reading by reading with your children on a regular basis.

Reading Fact: A Kindergartner’s vocabulary determines their reading ability through the 7th grade!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Parents are a vital part of our school community. We need your support and ideas. It is our goal to keep you up to date with the activities taking place in our school. We would like to begin meeting approximately once a month starting in January to share our ideas with you and to get your feedback. If you would like to be a volunteer on our School Improvement Team, please e-mail Princpal Dave Smogor at dsmogor@plano88.org or call 630/552-3234.
