Mr. Jim Porter is the President of the Plano School District Board of Education.  He was initially elected to the Board in 2001 and was recently re-elected to serve until 2013.  Mr. Porter is the Director of Manufacturing at the Open Door Rehabilitation Center in Sandwich.

Mrs. Karen DeBolt is currently the Vice President of the Board and was appointed to the Board of Education in 1999, was elected in 2003 and 2007 to serve until 2011.  Mrs. DeBolt is a cardiac nurse at Provena Mercy Hospital in Aurora.

Mr. Bryan Appel was appointed to the Board of Education in October 2005 to fill a vacancy on the Board.  He was elected to serve a four-year term until April 2011.  Mr. Appel is a land developer, Vice President of the Plano Youth Athletic Association and coaches youth boy’s baseball.

Mrs. Julia Blair was elected to the Board of Education in 2007 and will serve a four-year term until April 2011.  Mrs. Blair is a human resource manager for a third party administrator in Oak Brook.

Mr. Paul Heller was appointed to the Board to fill a vacant seat in November 2006.  He served a two-year term until April 2009 and was recently elected to serve until 2013.  Mr. Heller is Director of Customer Service at Plano Molding Company in Plano.

Mrs. Estela Martinez was appointed to fill a vacant seat on the Board in September 2008 and was recently elected to serve a full term which will end in April 2013.  Mrs. Martinez is the executive assistant to the vice president of sales and operations at a local firm.

Mr. Don Moody was appointed to fill a vacant seat on the Board in 2001, was elected in 2003 and again in 2007 to serve a full term which will expire in April 2011.  Mr. Moody is a Senior Designer/Engineer at HPD in Plainfield.

Board members are elected to staggered four-year terms.  As public servants, they spend many volunteer hours on school business.

All meetings are at 6 PM (unless otherwise noted on the agenda) in the Plano Community Unit School District No. 88 Board Room located in the Administration Office at 800 South Hale Street in Plano.
