Lessons of the Week

 

Lessons of the Week:

6th Grade:

Long: 
We are focusing on Elements of Literature in Reading, Long Vowel 
sounds in Spelling, and in L.A., Types of Sentences, Subject and 
Predicate, Simple Subject/Predicate, and Letter Writing.

Zimmerman: 
In writing class we are continuing to 
work on writing a friendly letter, spelling unit 2, and sentence 
structure. In my social studies class we are working on the five 
themes of geography, relating that to our region.

Mr. Skinner: 
This week in 6th grade math we will be ordering, adding, subtracting, 
and multiplying decimals.

S. Phillips: 
In social studies, this week we will be focusing on latitude and 
longitude line, and the 5 themes of geography. In reading, we will 
be focusing on interpreting song lyrics and and elements of 
literature.

P. Phillips:
This week in science we are focusing on the scientific method and 
science process skills.  We are also completing our first lab!

4th Grade:

Miller: 
The students will learn how to summarize nonfiction material by 
locating main ideas and details.

Schwartz:
The students will locate the subject and predicate of sentences.  
In writing they will be writing a paragraph about an event that
has happened in their lives.  In social studies we are focusing
on the geography of the United States and in reading students are
practicing finding the main idea and details of nonfiction texts.
